The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most exciting cricket leagues in the world, featuring some of the best players from around the globe. One of the most highly anticipated matches of the IPL is the clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is captained by Virat Kohli, one of the best batsmen in the world. RCB has always been a strong team on paper, but they have struggled to convert their potential into consistent performances on the field. One of the most high-profile teams in the tournament, Mumbai Indians are currently also the most successful, with five titles. The franchise was purchased by the Reliance conglomerate for about Rs 487 crore (US$112 million) in 2008, making it the most expensive team in the league at the time.

Maxwell, who was bought by RCB for a whopping INR 14.25 crore in the auction, showed why he is considered one of the most explosive batsmen in the world. He played some breathtaking shots and scored 39 runs off just 28 balls before getting out to Rahul Chahar. AB de Villiers, as usual, played a crucial knock of 48 runs off 27 balls and took RCB to the brink of victory.

With just two runs needed off the last ball, MI's Jasprit Bumrah bowled a perfect yorker to RCB's Harshal Patel, who could only manage a single. RCB won the match by 2 wickets with two balls to spare, in what was a thrilling finish to the game.

The second match between the two teams was played on April 20, 2021, in Chennai. This time, MI won the toss and chose to bat first. They got off to a poor start, losing Quinton de Kock early. However, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan steadied the innings with a 79-run partnership for the second wicket.

MI's middle-order, which is one of the strongest in the league, failed to fire, and they could only manage a score of 159/9 in their 20 overs. RCB's chase got off to a disastrous start, with the top three batsmen – Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, and Rajat Patidar – getting out cheaply.

Glenn Maxwell, who was promoted up the order, played another crucial innings for RCB, scoring 56 runs off just 37 balls. However, he did not get enough.
